24/7 Studio Equipment recognizes the need and the value in going “Green”. The impact on the environment is an important topic to us at 24/7 Studio Equipment and in order to minimize the impact our operation has to the environment, we have implemented these changes:

All diesel equipment is now using Bio Diesel and stickers have been placed on each unit to remind the operator to use Bio Diesel.

All of our GM dual fuel engines in our booms and scissors (about 80% of the total equipment) have catalytic converters installed that meet or exceed the CARB standards required today.

We have just completed a wash system for our vehicles and equipment that uses recycled (but very clean) water. There is NO discharge of dirty water into the environment.

We have 2 solar powered fuel stations for filling our equipment with fuel. These fuel stations require no electricity to operate and help reduce energy consumption. We also have no underground tanks to potentially leak and contaminate the water table.

We are the only rental company servicing the entertainment industry that have hired a full-time, on location, Environmental, Health and Safety Director, Mr. Gabe Ramos. Gabe keeps us up to date with the ever-changing OSHA/ANSI, CARB and EPA requirements.

We are implementing further energy saving techniques in our daily operation to help reduce the impact on the environment.

Hybrid Lifts Save Energy, Provide Dependable Service

December 2008

With volatile fuel prices and environmental issues becoming increasingly more important, construction equipment manufacturers have introduced hybrid machines in North America.

Already popular in Europe, hybrid boom lifts provide contractors and others who rent equipment an alternative to combustion-driven machines. It's estimated that an electric 60-foot boom lift uses only a fraction of the amount of energy needed to accomplish the same amount of work with a combustion machine.

"With the hybrid equipment, you're able to complete more work with significantly less energy consumption," said Wayne MacDonald, JLG senior vice president of engineering.

Electric powered aerial work platforms are the "green machines" in the lift industry. d machine design means less scheduled service, a quieter work area, less dependency on hydraulic oils and zero emissions.

A range of electric boom lifts - all featuring zero emissions and reduced noise levels - are available in the North America market. Reach heights ranging from 12 feet to 69 feet enable users to select the machine best suited for their applications.

Electric scissor lifts provide operators with longer runtimes, sometimes more than double the battery life of hydraulic-drive machines. While many models of electric scissor lifts are used in plant maintenance, warehousing, and industrial applications, additional models are designed with full-time automatic traction control and an oscillating axle for rough-terrain.
